Travel is both a spiritual and practical journey, and invoking prayers at departure and return brings peace of mind and reassurance.

The Prophet ﷺ recommended the following prayer when boarding any mode of travel, such as a car or plane:
"Allah is the Greatest, Allah is the Greatest, Allah is the Greatest. Glory be to Him who has subjected this to us, and we could not have done it by ourselves. Surely to our Lord we shall return. O Allah, we ask You in this journey for righteousness and piety, and for deeds that please You. O Allah, make this journey easy for us and shorten its distance, O Allah, You are the Companion in travel and the Guardian over our family."

Upon departure, it is recommended to say:
"O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the hardships of travel, from a bad view, and from misfortune in wealth and family."

Upon return, add:
"We return, repent, worship, and praise our Lord."
