Praying at Home During Rain: When Is It Permissible?
A clear Islamic ruling on whether you can skip mosque prayers due to heavy rain and still receive full reward.
Heavy rainfall often raises questions about whether it is acceptable to miss congregational prayers at the mosque, especially when reaching it becomes difficult or unsafe.
Islamic rulings clarify that while congregational prayer holds great reward, the religion takes into account real hardships and valid excuses. In cases of heavy rain or dangerous conditions, it is permissible to pray at home.
This is supported by prophetic guidance, where companions were instructed to call people to pray in their homes during cold and rainy nights, reflecting ease and mercy in such situations.
Once the excuse is gone and conditions improve, Muslims are encouraged to return to mosque prayers to gain their full spiritual benefits.
