Duration of vitamin D in the body:

  • After a single dose, part of it is stored for weeks.

  • Regular supplementation increases and sustains levels longer.

  • Reaching normal vitamin D levels typically takes 4–6 weeks for mild deficiency, and up to 12 weeks for severe deficiency.

  • Levels begin to drop gradually after stopping supplements unless obtained from sunlight or food.

How vitamin D works:
Vitamin D is converted into its active form in the liver and kidneys, influencing cell growth and body functions. Being fat-soluble, it is stored in fat tissue for long-term use.
